eGovernment Excellence Award 2023 Organizing Committee Announces Close of Registration

Judging Panel formed consisting of experts from various IT fields.

Submissions are now closed for the eGovernment Excellence Award 2023, now in its 12th edition, its Organizing Committee announced. Held under the patronage of HE Gen. Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communications (MCICT), the competition award received 350 digital project entries from government entities, private organizations, and individuals.

The Organizing Committee also announced the formation of a Judging Panel consisting of leading ICT experts and specialists renowned at both the local and international levels. They were selected based on their extensive experience and qualifications, and in line with the award's focus on emerging industry issues.

The eight-member panel will be chaired by Richard Kerby, who is Former Senior Inter-Regional Adviser on eGovernment and Knowledge Management at the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, United Nations. Other committee members include Dr. Esra Ahmed Wali, representing the academic and IT governance sector, and who is Chairperson of the Department of Information Systems at the College of Information Technology at the University of Bahrain; Daneh Al Rayes, representing non-government organizations related to information technology, holding the position of Vice President at Smart Way Consulting, and who is also a Board Member of Bahrain Internet Society; Ali Ghaleb Beshara, representing the information security sector while serving as the Head of Security Committee at Technology and Business Society (TBS) and as a member of ISACA Bahrain Chapter; Ali Sabkar, representing the media and digital communications sector, who is Chairman of the Global Social Media Club; Ebrahim Al Tamimi, from the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, who serves as a commerce sector representative and is an expert in award assessment and ICT; Ameera Al Qubaiti, representing business and technology, who is a partner in Al Rawi app and also a member of the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH); and Abdulsalam AlAsaadi, representing the banking and finance sector, who is Lead for the Retail Digital Platform at Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB).
