Winners of the eGovernment Excellence Award to be announced on October 27th

The 11th eGovernment Excellence Award ceremony will be held on 27th October 2021 under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Council for Information and Communication Technology Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the event’s organizing committee announced. This follows a recent announcement that the award’s Jury committee had evaluated submissions by public and private sectors entities and individuals.

The event, held every two years, celebrates innovative ICT initiatives and eSolutions that support the Kingdom's digital transformation strategy and help build a knowledge-based economy.

Categories for the public sector include Best Website, Best Government-to-Government eService, Best Practice in Community eParticipation, Best Integrated Services for Individuals or Businesses, and Best Application for Smart Devices. For the private sector, the categories are Best Application for Smart Devices and Best eService, while citizens can compete for the Best eConcept and eCitizen.

This year approximately , (260) participations have been submitted by entities and individuals. The award is an affirmation of Bahrain's support for innovation in the ICT sector, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated government digital transformation plans across the globe. Bahrain continued on its path to meet the needs of individuals and entities, as determined before the start of the pandemic. The global crisis motivated the Bahraini community to innovate services that could be accessed through digital channels, and to provide products and services that support the national infrastructure.

The eGovernment Excellence Award provides a platform for individuals and entities to share ideas that lead to improvements in performance and sustainable development, which in turn, supports the Kingdom’s digital transformation and the realization of its ambitious Vision 2030 objectives.
