eGovernment Excellence Award 2013 Deadline Extended

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain 20th February, 2013 - In response to the demand of potential innovative participants and in a bid to allow an opportunity for the maximum number of applications, the organizing committee of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2013 announced that the registration deadline of the award has been extended to February 28th 2013. The awarding ceremony is organized under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT).

The announcement came after receiving numerous requests to extend the deadline, which was intended to be on February 21st .

The organizing committee urged all citizens, employees of the public and private sectors along with NGO's to take this opportunity and register in this year’s eGovernment Excellence Award before the end of the new deadline - 28th February.

The eGovernment Excellence Award 2013 organizing committee is keen to select the award’s jury committee members from local, regional and international acclaimed experts who are well recognized in the fields of Information and Communication Technology; the names of the members are to be announced as soon as registration period ends.

The selected winners will be announced and honored during the opening of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2013 by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed, who is also patronizing the annual forum.

This year's award consists of ten categories divided into three entities - Government and Multi Sectors as well as Individuals. The Government sector comprises four categories - Best eContent, Best eService, eMaturity and Best eProject. The Multi-Sector includes four - Best ICT Solutions Provider, eEconomy, eEducation and eNGOs. The Individuals category contains two - eCitizen and Best eConcept.

The winner of the eCitizen award will be selected based on the highest number of transactions achieved and the highest value of financial transactions achieved via the eGovernment portal throughout one year.
