Best Applications for Smart Devices (Private sector only)

Overview

The Best Applications for Smart Devices award recognizes private entities that provide a smart device application to their end users with an aim to reduce cost, time, and effort in accomplishing a task or a series of tasks.

Entry criteria

  • The applicant must be categorized as a private entity, or a Non-Government Organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • The applicant should use technical solutions that are in line with the terms of the award.
  • The application should be operational and accessible at the time of application submission.
  • In line with the national initiative to consolidate government into three main applications as part of the Government Applications Merger Plan, only mobile applications owned and operated by private sector entities are eligible to participate in this category. Applications developed for or on behalf of public sector entities are not eligible to participate.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Impact of application on society.
  • Demonstrates cost savings and efficiency solutions concerning resources and time.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving techniques and service improvement opportunities.
  • Compatibility of the app on most platforms.
  • Creative use and utilization of relevant mobile technologies.
  • Implementation of a continuous improvement plan.
  • Showcase the degree of effectiveness and customer satisfaction (volume, value, distribution, statistics & figures, market share and other success factors).
  • Provides an effective communication mechanism with the Audience.
  • Feedback collection mechanism from end-users for improvement purposes.
  • Application security (ePayment transactions, information, and customer data).
  • Customer support.
  • Compliance with W3C standards for mobile applications.
